Marcello Carrozzino

Carrozzino

Marcello Carrozzino is a computer engineering researcher at Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna in Pisa. His work focuses on Computer Graphics and Virtual Environments, particularly the application of these technologies to Cultural Heritage and Education. He graduated in 2000 from Pisa University and has cooperated with Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna since 2001, where he coordinates the Art, Culture and Education group and the Perceptive Robotics Laboratory. In 2001 he was research fellow at the University College of London.
He achieved his PhD in 2006 from Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna with a thesis on the management of complex virtual environments. He was Post-Doc Researcher from 2006 to 2009 at the IMT of Lucca in the area of Technology and Management of Cultural Heritage. He has lectured at the course of Virtual Environments for the Faculty of Computer Science and Digital Humanities since 2006 and at the course of Networked Virtual Environments for the degree course in Computer Science and Technology since 2010. He has taken part in and coordinated several research projects at local, national and international level and is the author of more than 60 scientific publications.
