Born on 26th August 1950 in Casal di Principe, the town where he has always lived. A doctor who is married with two children. Involved in politics since the age of 25, he was an opposition town councillor throughout the 80s and in 93 was elected Mayor of the town, a post he held until November 94. After again serving as a town councillor in opposition to various different administrations, he was re-elected Mayor in June 2014. Alongside his political activities he has always been involved with social and voluntary organisations and/or those dealing with civil commitment, and in the 70s he set up a voluntary association to provide support to the disabled; in 89 he founded the Jerry Masslo Association, which provides health support to immigrants, and which, in its 25-year existence, has widened its remit with a other services providing social and health structures, after-school clubs for disadvantaged children, and action on the street for drug addicts and prostitutes. It has recently organised a social outfitters in a confiscated property in Castel Volturno. He has been Chair of this organisation for more than twenty years. In the 90s he also founded other associations dedicated to fighting organised crime, such as Libera in the province of Caserta and the Don Diana Committee. At present he is a member of the coordinating committee of Libera and the Don Diana Committee, and of the Mediterranean Foundation.
