Mattia Sullini

sullini-mattia

A trained architect, he has been a freelance illustrator in computer graphics since 2000. In 2009, along with a 22A|22 partner, he set up a co-working operation that also incorporated a workshop for craftspeople. Determined to endorse this individuality, he joined the group that founded FabLab Florence in 2012, making a strong contribution to determining its collaborative, popularising and training vocation with respect to the subjects of making things and personal digital fabrication. In 2013 he set up COMBO, a widespread co-working, promotion and support project for those setting up small collaborative spaces to be brought together in a single citizens’ network. The first creation of the project was LOFOIO, a craft workshop where, thanks to the range of different tools and equipment, all the members could gain confidence in their manual activities, craftsmanship, and DIY. A designer-thinker and connector by vocation, he is an enthusiastic promoter and convinced practitioner of the collaborative approach in all its forms and makes his knowledge of the applications of this approach in drafting and planning available as a consultant on co-working, community building, fablab and makerspace initiatives.
