Manlio Bacco

Manlio Bacco achieved a Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering from Bari Polytechnic in 2010. He has been a graduate fellow since 2012 at the Wireless Networks Laboratory of the Institute of Information Science and Technology at Pisa’s National Research Council. He is currently a PhD student at Siena University.

His scientific interests focus on the Telecommunications sector, specifically terrestrial and satellite wireless networks. He deals with communication protocols, band allocation, admission control systems, channel models and cross-layer optimisation. He is also interested in techniques for random access to wireless channels and he participates in the CNR’s research activities involving use of the drone built at CNR. Within this field, he deals with intra-vehicular communication and roadside devices with protocols developed for Wireless Sensor Networks.
