LORENZO GARZELLA, born in Pisa in 1972, graduated in Cinema Semiology.
In 2001 he founded NANOF, a production company based in Rome, together with Filippo Macelloni. Together they worked as creators and executive producers of many film video projects and multi-media installations, collaborating with broadcasters and editors (Rai, RCS, Mediaset, Sky and Biennale di Venezia) and with Italian and foreign directors (J.Cohen, R.Benigni and R.Faenza). He is the author of the feature film Il Mundial Dimenticato (The Lost World Cup) – 2011, presented at the Venice Film Festival and winner of many international awards. He has directed historical and social documentaries – ranging from World War II, to the situation in prisons, sport and video surveillance – in which he focuses on the experimental and social aspects of using the video medium. Together with the Acquario della Memoria Association (Pisa), he organised MemorySharing, a participated bottom-up project on the collection-sharing-narration of collective memory. The project aims to combine new technologies, face-to-face meetings, educational laboratories and play activities. It is a replicable and exportable model, tested in Pisa and Florence in 2014 on the subject of World War II, for the 70th Anniversary of the Liberation.
