Founder and Chairman of dPixel

Gianluca Dettori is the founder and chairman of dPixel, a consulting company specialised in technological venture capital.

Gianluca – 47 years of age – has been dealing with the Internet for 20 years and with technological venture capital for around 15 years.
He started his career as manager in Italia Online (Olivetti), then as General Manager in Lycos Bertelsmann to launch the search engine in Italy. In 1999 he founded Vitaminic, a platform for digital music distribution, holding the position of Chief Executive Officer and taking it to its listing on the New Market of the Italian Stock Exchange in 2000. Following the merger with Buongiorno SpA in 2003, he served as Head of Mergers & Aquisition in the Buongiorno Vitaminic Group and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors.

An investor over the last 10 years in Vivaticket, Im3D, Sitonline, SmartRM, Crowdengineering, Banzai, SEOlab, Kiver, Sounday, Ibrii, Liquida and Urbissimo, he also writes about Internet and Venture Capital for Wired Italia magazine and “Il Sole 24 Ore – Nova100”.

Graduated in Economics from the University of Turin, he founded and was the first president of the IAB (Internet Advertising Bureau) in Italy. He is also co-founder of First Generation Network, Fullbright mentor and member of the Kauffman Society. Since 2014, he is European Commission Advisor for Future Internet Accelerators.
