Fabio Malagnino

Fabio is a freelance journalist and head of Open Government and Civic Media at the Piedmont regional council. An expert in innovating Public Administrations, he helped draft one of the first Italian laws about free wifi and open data, which was subsequently passed in the Piedmont region. He is president of the Turin Digital Committee, a network of professionals and academics created to help support local administrations develop digitally. Fabio is a member of the Reno association, where he is involved in communications, civic engagement and social media. He writes a blog on Nòva – Il Sole 24 Ore, in which he analyses changes in Public Administration with regards to the digital world, engagement and transparency. He collaborates with the magazine Pionero.it, writing about digital innovation and open culture in Public Administration. Fabio lives in the San Salvario district of Turin, but his heart remains in Apulia.
