Enrica Salvatori (born in La Spezia 1963), a History graduate from the University of Pisa, gained a PhD in Medieval History from the University of Milan and a post-doctorate from the University of Turin.
She is now Associate Professor of Medieval History at the University of Pisa where her lessons form part of the degree courses in History, Science of Cultural Assets and Humanist IT. She teaches Digital History, organises the annual Digital Cultural seminar at the University of Pisa, looks after the iTunesU project at the same university, is a founder member of the Interdepartmental Centre the “Digital Culture Laboratory”, and collaborates with “Medieval Networks, online initiatives for Medieval Studies”.
She has combined her scientific skills with work as a journalist and publicist, working on various newspapers, collaborating on two RAI programmes and, in 2006, founding the Historycast blog-podcast (http://www.historycast.net), the first independent podcast in Italy devoted to history.
Her main areas of research – limited to the field of Humanist IT, relate to Digital History and Public History.
