Anahi Ayala Iacucci

Anahi Ayala Iacucci is an innovation consultant for Internews, an NGO working in information and media in developing countries. Anahi additionally advises on the use of new technologies for the Humanitarian Relief programme run by Internews. Prior to this Anahi worked (at Internews) as an Innovation Consultant for Africa, where she chiefly focused on new technologies, social media, mobile phones and interactive mapping systems in countries such as Kenya, the Central African Republic, Ghana, Niger, Ivory Coast, Mali, Somalia, Nigeria and Haiti.

Anahi also spent several years working as a consultant for organisations such as the World Bank and the United Nations and NGOs such as Oxfam and Freedom House. Anahi has an undergraduate degree in International and Diplomatic Studies from the University of Bologna, a postgraduate in Sciences and Institutions for Human Rights and Peace from the University of Padua and a Master in International Affairs from Columbia University, New York.

Anahi has worked in more than 20 countries across the world, including Iraq, Afghanistan, Myanmar, Palestine, Indonesia, Vietnam, China, Nepal and Ukraine, among others. Anahi is particularly interested in how local communities use the internet, mobile technologies and new technologies and how humanitarian development and relief programmes can use these tools to help promote a local response to problems.
