Prof. Albert-László Barabási is one of the most influential scientists in the Network Science field, known mainly for his discovery of the ubiquity of scale-free networks and their modelling, for his understanding of the episodic and explosive nature of human behaviour, for the discovery of the laws of human mobility and the theory for controlling complex networks.

Among other awards, he has been presented with the C&C Foundation NEC Prize (Japan) and the Premio Lagrange (Italy).
