Researcher since 1996 at the Institute for Research on Population and Social Policies of the National Research Council and Contract Professor of Statistics (SECS01) at the Faculty of Sociology – La Sapienza University of Rome since 2013, Loredana Cerbara has always dealt with statistical methodologies and with the application of statistics to population data. She has been in charge of the survey sector of the IRPPS since 2005. Specifically, she focuses on:
• Sampling design
• Data analysis techniques (especially population data)
• Survey data analysis
• Fuzzy classification techniques
• Data mining
• Data production techniques
• Didactics of statistics and demographics.
As part of her focus on the didactics of statistics, she has developed new participatory methodologies, applied both to secondary school and university levels. These methodologies envisage the use of computer and web tools that allow students to be actively involved in learning statistics and its close relationships with other subjects.
