Simonetta Bassi teaches History of Philosophy from the Renaissance to the Enlightenment for the Philosophy Department of the University of Pisa. She has been chair of the consolidated Philosophy course (2005-2006 academic year); from 2006/2007 to 2011/2012 she took on the role of Director of the Philosophy department. At present she is part of the University of Pisa’s Quality Safeguarding team.

She is a scientific advisor and vice chair of the Istituto Nazionale di Studi sul Rinascimento. She is a member of the scientific council of the Philosophy Centre of the Scuola Normale Superiore.
