Matteo Pelliti was born in Sarzana in 1972. He graduated in Philosophy at Pisa with a dissertation on “the grammar of psychological language” in Wittgenstein, before specialising in “Public and Political Communication”. From here he – for obscure reasons – moved to the Province of Pisa, where he has worked in web and institutional communication from 2001 to the present day, practising forms of “food literature”.

Matteo considers himself an amateur in terms of what he does professionally. His work includes the short volume of poetry Versi ciclabili (Cyclable verses) (Napoli, 2007), the short story collection Giocattoli (Toys) (Pisa, 2010), the poems devoted to words that stem from proper nouns in “Boicottando mongolfiere e ghigliottine” (Boycotting hot-air balloons and guillotines) (Tapirulan, 2013). Some of his work is also included in anthologies (Ultima spiaggia, ETS 2004; Caffè ristoro, ETS 2006; Pisanthology, Giulio Perrone Editore 2007). In 2013 he was involved in the anthology “Sosteneva Tabucchi” (Supported Tabucchi )(Felici Editore), edited by Luca Ricci, and the collection “Cotto e Narrato. A tavola con gli scrittori pisani” (Cooked and narrated. Sitting down to eat with Pisan writers) (Felici Editore).

He has been collaborating with singer-songwriter Simone Cristicchi since 2005. Matteo wrote the short story “Accadde una volta” (It happened once) about him as well as the afterwords of the volumes Centro di igiene mentale (Mental Health Centre)(with Massimo Bocchia, Mondadori 2007) and Dialoghi incivili (Uncivil Dialogues) (by Massimo Bocchia and Simone Cristicchi, Eléuthera, 2010). In 2013 he helped write the script for “Magazzino 18″, a civil-musical about the history of the Istrian exodus.

He is the father of an extraordinary girl called Sara.
