Marco Monaci, class of 1993: I have always been passionate about physics and astronomy. From 2008 to 2010 I took part in the Astronomy Olympics, winning two bronze medals and a prize for best practical proof. In 2014 I took part in FameLab, an event for popularisers of science, reaching the national final in Perugia. From 2011 to 2013 I was scientific director of the municipal Observatory in Grosseto, and set up a research section looking for extragalactic supernovae, linked to the ISSP (Italian Supernovae Search Project). As well as astronomy, I am keen on speleology, a wonderful activity that I do with some friends from Grosseto. At present I am studying Physics at the University of Pisa.
