Marco Calamari, engineer, born in 1955. In 1976, instead of buying a car, he purchased one of the first PCs in Italy and since then he has never recovered.
Marco Calamari founded the Winston Smith Project and the Hermes Centre for Transparency and Digital Human Rights, and also contributes to FOSS Freenet, Tor and GlobaLeaks projects.
He has worked in various companies in ICT as an applications architect, consultant and trainer.
He is a member of the Italian chapter of IISFA, of AIP and of OPSI and works as a forensic technical consultant.
Speaker in many – maybe too many – events, Marco Calamari is one of the organizers of the e-Privacy Conference, an event focusing on privacy in and outside the Net, and is lead writer of the Cassandra Crossing section of Punto Informatico.
