GoodMakers sell wine according to the principle of Purchasing Networks, that is, the more people participate in a sale at the same time, the more articles are sold per single product and the higher the discount for everyone involved. Purchasing Networks are the first online “social sales points”: the purchasing process is shared with others via social media sites, new media and traditional word of mouth. The process works as follows. Firstly a user will share their purchase decision with others and invite them to become part of their Purchasing Network. As the purchase becomes better known, more people get involved and the discount increases, up to a maximum of 20% for every article being bought. Active participation is at the heart of the Purchasing Network and user contribution is crucial in securing the best price. GoodMakers expanded its business into Germany in 2014.
