Francesco is a self-taught artist whose training involved an intense urban exploration of the largest cities in Europe and the States. In his recent work on canvas he has explored a number of subjects borrowed from traditional graffiti folklore: collages reproducing the layers and textures of our cities’ walls and a series of psychedelic and pop portraits entitled “Cool Portraits”; increasingly abstract spatial images inspired by science-fantasy and the raw aesthetic of outskirts and train lines, where his research pauses for a while, seeking to describe these areas of “no man’s land” situated on the city outskirts. Francesco lives and works in Pisa.
