
Elisabetta Tognoni is a researcher at the NRC’s National Optics Institute. For some years she has worked on developing methodologies to characterise materials. Her recent activity concerns the use of scanning probe microscopy for applications in the biological field. She is co-author of more than 70 articles in international peer-review scientific journals.
She loves reading (especially biophysics texts about her work; history, history of science, sociology, science fiction and more in her free time) and listening to baroque music.
She also grows hardy plants. She is a founder member of La Nuova Limonaia, an association to spread scientific knowledge.
