An art historian, she is a researcher and teacher of Museum Studies and History and Restoration Techniques in the Department of Civilisation and Forms of Knowledge at the University of Pisa. She has worked for the Milan Triennale, in particular taking care of archives and documentation, and with various institutes on exhibition projects and activities to promote cultural assets.
She carries out research into the history of institutions and cultural politics from the 18th century to today, and into the cultural, social, economic and political dimensions of contemporary museums.
A member of the scientific committee of Edifir Firenze’s “Voices of the museum. Museology and museography series” and of the Board of Directors of the Special Authority for the historical, artistic and ethno-anthropological heritage and for the museums of the city of Florence. National scientific coordinator and director of the Pisa Unit (with Chiara Piva director of the Venice Unit and Miriam Failla director of the Turin Unit) of the Ministry of University Teaching and Research’s three-year PRIN-Programme of Research of National Interest The life of works: from the source to the digital world. Pilot project for research and communication in museums of the history of the conservation of works of art.
