All our mobile phones and lots of other electronic devices contain a small piece of the Democratic Republic of Congo: coltan, which comes from mines in the North-East of the country and trade in which also fi nances a war that has caused more than 5 million deaths since 1998. Is there any way we can change course? Yes, and it starts with consumer choice.
