Carlo Infante is a freelance teacher for Performing Media, cultural organiser, brainstormer, columnist and president-managing director of Urban Experience. In the 1980s he organised festivals like Scenari dell’Immateriale, hosted (also as an author) radio programmes on Radio 1 and Radio 3 and television broadcasts such as comeMediamente.scuola on RAI3 and Salva con Nome on RAInews24 (in 2009). He is the brains behind (for the Turin Olympic Games in 2006) web formats such as geoblog (allowing history to be inscribed in maps, well before the likes of GoogleMaps), highlighting the underlying creative tensions in Social Innovation (this also happened with Performing Media Lab in Salento, with La Notte della Taranta, and with a property confiscated from the Mafia in Piedmont, which he owns and manages together with the association teatron.org). He is the author of Educare on line (1997, Netbook), Imparare giocando (Bollati Boringhieri, 2000), Edutainment (Coop Italia, 2003), Performing Media. La nuova spettacolarità della comunicazione interattiva e mobile (Novecentolibri, 2004), Performing Media 1.1 Politica e poetica delle reti (Memori, 2006) and of many other essays and articles for numerous newspapers (including NOVA-Sole24ore, Tiscali and Unità, for which he edited the monthly insert UniTag). He is one of the founders of the Stati Generali dell’Innovazione . He wrote the essay Culture Digitali and other related entries for the Enciclopedia Italiana Treccani (Science and Technology – double volume on Informatics).
