In the near future urban transport will be radically transformed by the pervasive use of sensors and communication technologies and by the huge amounts of data they will create. This progress will revolutionise urban traffi c and will enable innovative, personalised and on-demand transport services to be created, bringing with it immense benefi ts to both users and the city. The MIT SENSEable City Lab will seek to interpret future patterns of urban transport and will discuss the possible scenarios with sociologist De Kerckhove and president of Pisa CNR Domenico Laforenza.
