Anna started working as a graphic designer in 1987, first at ZanOn where she ran communication projects for the sports, glasses and food industries; and second at Onami Design, of which she became partner in 1989. After attending several short courses at the FIT, the Central St Martins and the Domus Academy, she broadened her professional experience to include materials and finish, working with various businesses in the sports and car industries.

From the mid-1990s she has been researching meta-design for Italian and international businesses and has accrued experience in design management through collaborations with various groups of designers. From 2006 to 2009 she collaborated on a permanent basis with the Domus Academy Research Centre, and from 2010 to 2011 she was a partner and senior project manager of DARCmilano. Since 2012 she has been Executive Director of Material ConneXion Italia.
