Giacomo Marramao studied Philosophy at the University of Florence and Social Sciences at the University of Frankfurt. Visiting Professor at several European, American and Asian universities, he is currently Full Professor of Theoretical Philosophy at the University of Rome Three, where he also teaches Political Philosophy. He is also Scientific Director of the Fondazione Basso and a member of the International College of Philosophy (Paris). In 2005 the Presidency of the French Republic awarded him the honour of “Palmes Académiques” and the University of Bucharest the title of Professor Honoris Causa in Philosophy. In 2009 he received the Karl-Otto Apel International Philosophy Prize and in 2013 the title of Doctor Honoris Causa in Philosophy and Linguistics at the National University of Cordoba (Argentina).
