Jürgen Brüning studied Social Sciences in Berlin, where he also squatted houses and founded a cinema called Eiszeit. He moved to New York in the 90s to collaborate with Cinema of Transgression and with Bruce LaBruce. This resulted in the creation of Cazzo Film, a gay porn movie production company.
Meanwhile, Jürgen Brüning worked as a curator for festivals such as the Leipzig Documentary Film Festival and as a programme advisor for the Panorama section of the Berlin International Film Festival. In 2006 Jürgen Brüning founded the Berlin Porn Film Festival.
