Slowd is a web platform to create “kilometer zero” designs, connecting emerging designers, artisans and end customers.
Slowd builds a democratic and sustainable supply chain, providing SMEs with access to innovation and designers with the ultimate tool to market their ideas.

Andrea Cattabriga implemented the “kilometer zero Design” concept by creating a global wide-spread factory, leveraging on designer talent and artisan quality: this tool enables projects to generate profit, increases SME business and provides the end customer with an highly innovative, sustainable and accessible product.

Once the product has been developed, Slowd makes it available online and offline, enabling on-demand production located as close as possible to the end customer.

In March 2013 Slowd was acknowledged as an innovative startup (as defined in Decree Law No. 179 of 18 October 2012).
In October 2013 it was awarded one of Working Capital Telecomitalia’s grants (15 awards for over 2,000 nominations). Slowd has also been recently listed in the prestigious ADI Index 2013 (Service Design category) and conferred the Honorable Mention at the XXIII ADI Compasso d’Oro Award.
